EML Leeds casting!

The EML crew headed up north for our Leeds casting last weekend for another day filled with Warehouse style, fabulous Eylure lashes and speedy hair styling from Toni & Guy. Applicants took a break from the exhausting business that is getting catwalk ready by lounging on the Samsung Diva chaise and popping into Warehouse for a cupcake (thank you Artisan Cupcake Company) and Sip water before strutting their stuff on the mini catwalk. Elite model Claire Selby turned Warehouse stylist for the day, lending a hand in the style studio before showing us all how to strike a pose in this seasons must have maxi dress. We came away with 2 stunning semi finalists who will be joining the rest of our winners in a big national casting day so congratulations Olivia Dunn and Jenni Lumb....looking forward to seeing you in London! We can hardly believe that the tour has already passed the halfway point so if you want to catch us at a centre near you make sure you have the final dates in your diary!

Ming Xi for Givenchy A/W 10!

We’ve been eagerly anticipating this campaign for a while now and finally the first preview has arrived. Ming Xi is one of our favourite new faces of the moment (and previous EML contestant), who following an exclusive with Givenchy Couture this January came and set the catwalks of LFW alight in February walking for major designers such as Daks, Matthew Williamson, Julien Macdonald and Aquascutum.

So here it is, the red hot Givenchy A/W 10 campaign featuring the lovely Ming alongside top models Catherine McNeil and Malgosia Bela...hope to all EML applicants that the competition can lead to a successful modelling career!

Hind & Caroline...Elite's bathing beauties!

Sometimes the team behind an editorial need no introduction and you know when Steven Meisel collaborates with Italian Vogue you’re about to witness something beautiful. Usually a privilege reserved for the most established of models, we were thrilled to see two of our star development girls gracing the pages of Vogue Italias latest issue, sporting some gorgeous retro swimwear all captured in classic black and white by Meisel. Hind Sahli and Caroline Brasch Nielsen have well and truly arrived I think we can safely say that this is just the beginning...is it too early to mention Fashion Week?

A BEAUTIFUL BALLAD

Dedicated to showcasing the work of the most creative young talent around, the achingly cool BALLAD OF... magazine is an Elite favourite, and as our very own Justine Boomer graces the cover of the third glorious issue, out tomorrow, we thought we'd better getting blogging about this magnet for new artistic talent.

Highlights curated by the brilliant Ballad Of... girls Lindsey and Claire include a mix of contributions from the likes of super talented snappers (and Elite faves) Jessie Craig and Ellen Rogers, and kooky contemporary stuff like Blaubushka's absorbing photostories. We're also dead chuffed that Ballad Of... was first off the mark to publish the Moustache Project by our friend Rokas Darulis. Good work girls!

EML ♥ SOUTHAMPTON

Elite pro Charlotte Benson and previous EML contestant Emily Smith were on hand to show all our lovely Southampton applicants how it’s done at our casting in WestQuay last Saturday. From catwalk demo’s to tips on posing our girlies made sure everyone involved got a mini model master class to help prepare them for their modelling debut! The day was full of the usual treats from Samsung, Warehouse, Toni & Guy and Eylure and we can’t believe we have already reached the half way point...with only 5 more castings to go make sure you’ve got the next dates in your diary and looking forward to seeing you in Leeds!
